Eng. Tamir Mitiku Habeteyes is a hydraulic and hydropower engineer, irrigation engineer, and water-supply, sanitation and wastewater professional with more than twenty-five years of experience. His career spans almost the complete engineered water cycle—from irrigation planning and groundwater development through pumping, conveyance and urban water supply to sanitation, wastewater, fecal-sludge treatment, construction supervision, commissioning, operation and performance monitoring.
He holds an MSc in Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering and a BSc in Irrigation Engineering and is registered in Ethiopia as a Practicing Professional Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineer. His project experience includes the 1,200-ha Hadiya irrigation schemes, the 7,000-ha Wonji agricultural expansion programme, the 5,000-ha Kwale International Sugar development in Kenya, Debre Berhan's urban WSS programme, and modern wastewater and fecal-sludge treatment assignments in Adigrat and Arba Minch.
